Bid writing software

You have already written most of your next tender

The security question. The social value question. The one about how you handle a complaint. Bidwell reads the bids, policies and case studies you have already written, turns them into a knowledge base of your own answers, and drafts the next tender from that instead of from a blank page.

Every answer shows which document it came from, so you can check it before it goes to a buyer.

No card, no time limit, no sales call.

What bid writing software should do, and what most of it does instead

Reuse, rather than generate

A general AI writes new prose about your company. It does not know what you said in the questionnaire you answered in March. Reusing your real answer is both faster and safer than inventing a better sounding one.

Cite the source, every time

If an answer cannot tell you which document it came from, you have to verify it from scratch, and you have saved nothing. Every Bidwell answer names its source.

Start from what you have

Content libraries that a team has to fill in by hand tend to stay empty. Upload one past bid and Bidwell pulls the reusable questions and answers out of it, usually a few dozen from a single document.

Cost less than the bid is worth

Enterprise RFP platforms are priced for teams of ten. If you are three people who bid occasionally, the licence costs more than the work.

Who it suitsSmall firms writing their own bids with no dedicated bid team.Bid teams of ten or more with a procurement budget. One important bid where you want a human expert on it.

If you are running a thirty person bid team with a procurement process, an enterprise platform is the better fit and we will say so. Detailed comparisons are on the alternatives pages.

Who this is not for

  • You have never written a bid. Bidwell drafts from your own material, so with nothing to read it has nothing to work from. Start with the training and courses instead, then come back.
  • You need one important bid written for you. Hire a bid writer. Software helps you do it yourself at volume, which is a different problem.
  • You need SSO, enterprise procurement and a named account manager. We do not do those, and pretending otherwise wastes your time.

Frequently asked

Bid writing software, in short

Is there free bid writing software?
Bidwell’s knowledge base is free and stays free, with no card and no time limit. You upload the bids, policies and case studies you have already written, and it turns them into a searchable set of your own answers you can export whenever you want. Drafting answers to a live tender is the paid part, at £20 a month, and you can read your first three answers before you decide.
What should bid writing software actually do?
Most of a tender response is answers you have already given somewhere else. Software earns its place by finding those answers in your own documents and reusing them, not by generating new prose from a blank page. The test is whether every answer tells you which document it came from, so you can check it before it goes to a buyer.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
A general model writes plausible text about your company. It does not know what you actually said in the security questionnaire you answered in March, and it cannot cite it. Bidwell drafts only from documents you have uploaded and shows the source for each answer, which is what makes the output safe to submit.
Does it work for construction tenders?
Yes. Construction is the sector we see most, and the pattern holds well there because method statements, quality plans and health and safety policies get asked for again and again in slightly different words. The same applies to IT services, facilities management, healthcare suppliers and professional services.
What does it cost?
The knowledge base is £0 with no card. Answering tenders is £20 a month. £30 a month adds daily monitoring of every UK tender portal, matched to your sector, CPV codes, region and contract value. There is no per-bid fee and no minimum term.
Do I have to talk to sales?
No. You sign up and you are in. There is no demo call, no procurement process and no annual contract, which is the main practical difference between this and the enterprise RFP platforms.
